Family owned and operated for four generations
Your hosts, Darren & Sarah Caruso, live and work at Sunbeam Bungalows, continuing the family business that originated back in the 1930's. Today, by carefully blending past traditions with ongoing modern improvements, the resort has kept its appeal as a family & fishing vacation destination.
Sunbeam has become a recurring favourite destination for family vacations, whether that includes fishing or not. The resort’s accommodations, recreational activities, waterfront facilities and nearby attractions offer something for all ages and interests.
A family friendly place
Growing up in the business, Sarah always knew that this was where she wanted to be. She met Darren at the young age of 15 and they grew up together sharing that same dream of taking over the family business. Eventually, in 2010, the purchase was made, and the dream became reality. Whether you come to fish or spend a family vacation here, the Caruso family (Darren, Sarah and their five children) look forward to welcoming you and your family, and friends old and new, to Sunbeam Bungalows Family & Fishing Resort, on the shores of Callander Bay, Lake Nipissing!
The founders
Sunbeam Bungalows started with the Bain family. The Bains had a vision for a family and fishing resort that would cater to people who love to fish, as well as offering an ideal holiday location for those who prefer to do other things! Their dream was to create a welcoming and friendly resort, in a setting enhanced by the magnificent panorama and beautiful sunsets of Lake Nipissing, while always respecting the surrounding land, community and wildlife. David and Diane Bain are pleased to see the vision continue with the next generation (their daughter Sarah, son-in-law Darren, and family), in the same way that it continued when they took over from David's parents back in 1977, and when David's parents acquired the business back in 1942! Truly a family commitment!
The resort
Sunbeam Bungalows is ideally located in a sheltered bay of Lake Nipissing, on the outskirts of the small town of Callander, near North Bay, Ontario Canada, easily accessible by a three and a half hour (330 km/205 miles) scenic highway drive from Toronto. The resort is open year round, (with the main season being mid-May to mid-October), and offers midweek/weekend and weekly packages in a range of cottages (1, 2 & 3 bedroom), ideal for individuals, couples, families or groups of friends.
