Yes! We are open for the season!

June 6 2020...

We are very excited that the Ontario government just this week made the decision to allow cottage resorts to open as of June 5! Up to that point, although we were not open for our regular season, we were working on preparing for that time and we seemed to be easily as busy as any other year. Thank you to our loyal Sunbeamers and all of you who have followed updates on our website home page pending season opening. Thank you for touching base with us periodically for more details - we appreciate your being flexible with reservation dates and being patient during this time of extraordinary circumstances. We will continue to post ‘quick access’ essential information on the website as needed.

Now our focus has to be on putting in place safety precautions for the health and peace of mind of all our guests and staff. Again, we ask for your patience and understanding, as we expect that the extra thorough cleaning of cottages will mean that check in time may have to be a little later than usual. If there is a delay, the beach and other resort amenities will of course be available to you in the meantime.

You’ll notice a complete change in the marina! The work on the new docks is really coming together, despite challenges, as the whole marina is just so incredibly big! Many docking slips are in use already, and progress continues, including the detailed work required to finish the project. Work on cottages and grounds has been going on as it does every year - for example, we’ve painted cottages #5 & #6, added twisted manila rope ‘cottage-y’ accents in the interiors of some cottages, and new levelled fire pit areas outside cottages #23 & #24.

After waiting what seems like forever to be open, we are very excited, however do urge you to remember that all of us, together, still need to be mindful of the precautions and practices that we have all become accustomed to over the past few months. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be with us, so our vigilance regarding physical distancing and hand washing, as well as respecting other measures in force in the province, must continue in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We really look forward to seeing you soon!

Darren & Sarah
